Lewistown School Board honors Jeff Miller

Lewistown CUSD #97 school board member Jeff Miller has stepped down after 28 years of service for Lewistown Schools.  Jeff was appointed to the Board of Education for the Lewistown High School District #341 in the fall of 1995, to fill a vacancy in the board.  Shortly after he started on the high school board, consolidation happened.

Jeff was elected to the new Lewistown CUSD #97 Board of Education in 1997, after the consolidation vote passed. He has remained on the Lewistown CUSD #97 Board of Education since that first election

Jeff was the President of the Board for two terms, and also served in other officer roles.  Over the years Jeff was a part of many improvements to the district facilities and programs

Some of the highlights/milestones of his 28 years on the school board include:

  • Improvements to Central school to accommodate students from other districts after the consolidation in 1997

  • Construction of Central Elementary and the moving of the primary grades from McNally School

  • Moving of 7th and 8th grade from Central school to the high school building

  • Countless construction projects including new roofs at the high school and Central, and new HVAC systems at the high school and Central

  • The beginning of the sports co-op with Cuba and Valley

Thank you for your service and almost 3 decades of dedication and work to improve the schools of Lewistown.
