Big shout-out to Doug Tindall from MidAmerica National Bank, who is back at it with another Stock Market Project for students in Mrs. Williams’ Adult Living class! Students each have $10,000 to invest and will be following their investments throughout the project, learning about the stock market, investing, and how money can work for them. And, of course, there are some gift cards on the line for the students who finish on top! 💰

Another huge shoutout to Cameron Stone! 1st place in TWO FFA Career Development Events in the same night! Cameron took the top spot in both Agriculture Education AND Job Interview and is headed to the District 3 contest in both events! Pretty awesome night for Cameron. Way to represent! LVC XC represented well at PORTA!

This weekend the varsity volleyball team traveled to Quad Cities Christian School to compete in the QCCS Round Eagle tournament. The day was full of very exciting games. The girls stepped up and were able to take home 1st place! Huge congratulations to Savannah Stahl! She’s been selected as a reporter for the FFA in the USA, which features stories from selected reporters. Savannah’s application was one of only 250 chosen from those of many other members representing every corner of the country, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Way to go Savannah!

Our High School and Jr. High students held their first book club meeting, and we had a great turnout! It was wonderful to see students come together to read, share their thoughts, and engage in a meaningful discussion. A big thank you to our librarian, Rhonda Bishop, for facilitating a great conversation and helping create a space where students can connect through books and ideas!

Today's JH XC meet is postponed due to a wet course. The meet will be made up on Thursday, September 17.

The JH FB team picked up a win in their first game of they year by defeating Havana 42-8 on Tuesday. Owen Hull had 3 rushing TDs and 1 punt return TD, James Rutherford 1 rushing TD and 2 2pt conversions, Dillon Donaho 1 fumble recovery TD, and Colin Gillham 1 2pt conversion.

The HS VB teams lost to Hartem on Tuesday night. The JV fell in 3 sets, 26-24, 24-26, 12-15 while the Varsity lost in two, 15-25, 16-25. State leaders follow. The girls are back in action tonight at Knoxville.

Dear Parents/Guardians, We are writing to inform you that we have students that have been showing symptoms of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) at the high school. To help prevent the spread of infection within our school community, your child will need to remain at home and be excluded from school until they are feeling well enough to participate in normal school activities and are fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease is a common viral illness that can spread easily through close contact, respiratory droplets, and contact with contaminated surfaces or bodily fluids. Symptoms may include fever, sore throat, mouth sores, and a rash or blisters on the hands, feet, or other areas of the body. Please monitor your child for worsening symptoms and contact your healthcare provider if you have concerns about their illness. Good hand hygiene, covering coughs and sneezes, and avoiding sharing cups, utensils, and personal items can help reduce the spread of infection. Please notify the school if your child has been diagnosed with HFMD and let us know when they will be returning. Congratulations to the LVC JH SB team on picking up a thrilling come from behind win in Regionals last night. The Miners trailed 6-4 going into the 7th inning before scoring 3 runs to take a lead and hold on for 7-6 win. This is the first postseason win in program history. Nice job girls and coaches.
