Lewistown Community Unit School District #97

The LVC JH Baseball team picked up their first win in program history last night. Not only did they win, but the pitching and defense combined for a no-no!

The Lewistown JH XC team ran their first meet last Thursday at home. Both the boys and girls finished in 2nd place. Top individual runners for the girls were 3rd Danni Stout (15:37), 6th Sydney Barnes (16:21), and 7th Emily Ford (17:45 and for the boys 3rd Luke Larson (14:06), 4th Knox Braun (14:07), 8th Ronny Stout (14:33), and 9th Braxton Smith (14:39).

The LVC HS FB team kicked off their season on Friday. Jace Butler lead the team in rushing with 108 yards. Cooper Stambaugh completed 1 pass to Ethan Lucas for 25 yards. Conner Hillyer picked up the loan TD for the Miners. Anders Harrison led the team with 10 tackles while Ethan Lucas had 2 interceptions.

Congratulations to Sandy Whitman on her retirement! Sandy has been with the district for 39 years as one of our wonderful lunch ladies. All of us are going to miss her greatly and wish her the best in her retirement.

The Class of 2027 was up bright and early this morning for a special Senior Sunrise on the football field! 🌅🏈 A great way to kick off their senior year, make some memories, and enjoy some time together before the school day began. Here’s to a great year for our seniors! Let’s make it one to remember, Class of 2027!

We are having a great 1st day of student attendance at Lewistown Central Elementary! Students have received school supplies as needed. Huge thank you to the Bryant Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge for the donations! ❤️💙

Meet The Miners night is still on at 6pm tonight. Please park in the paved lots at the high school. Do not park in the grass lots as they are soft and we do not want to tear up the practice fields.

Congratulations to Mary Ann Scott and Chris Peterson on their retirement from Lewistown CUSD #97! Mary Ann has been with the district for over 40 years and Chris was in the district for 10 years, but has been in education for 51 years. Most recently, they were both Reading Interventionists at Central Elementary. They will be greatly missed, but we wish them the best in their retirement!

What a great way to kick off our first Teacher Institute Day! We were fortunate to welcome Blake Fry, who delivered an outstanding, audience-participation-filled message about the power of showing appreciation, building relationships, and creating a strong sense of community. A great start to the 2026-27 school year!

JH Softball will have hitting practice at Higgins Field in Lewistown until 5:00pm.
