Students in Mrs. Williams’ Intro to Family & Consumer Science class have been exploring the world of children’s literature! Each student selected a children’s author to research and created their own storybook to share with young readers. Today, students visited the Lewistown Carnegie Public Library and met with librarian Jaime Grove, who gave them a behind-the-scenes look at the library and challenged them to think creatively about ways they can use books and activities to engage young children when they visit our preschool class.

Mrs. Simpson’s Physics students put their problem-solving skills to the test with a Barbie Bungee activity, while Mrs. Freehill’s Biology students became museum curators during a Biology Gallery Walk. It’s great to see our science teachers creating hands-on, student-centered experiences that get students thinking, collaborating, questioning, and learning by doing.
