This morning, Lewistown Central Elementary School was placed in a “soft lockdown” status, meaning no one was allowed to enter or exit the building and students were kept in their classrooms. This measure was taken out of an abundance of caution after we received information that a note was found that indicated a possible threat of violence. Local law enforcement was contacted and responded immediately and investigated the situation. The soft lockdown status has now been lifted, and there is no threat to students or staff.
We appreciate the quick response of our local police and the cooperation of our students and staff in following safety procedures. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority.

IHSA sponsored a Student Leadership Conference at the Embassy Suites in East Peoria yesterday. Our students enjoyed guest speakers on how to expand their leadership skills. Lewistown students were nominated by coaches and voted on by their teachers. This conference is offered to high school students who are considering a career in education. Approximately 1,600 students from across the state participated in this remarkable event.

Addison Roddis was named to the Prairieland North All Conference 1st team while Carsyn Braun and Ahnna Richardson were named to the 2nd Team.
Gauge Kruzan was named the 1st Team Unanimous Punter for the Lincoln-Prairie All Conference. Gauge was also named as an Honorable Mention QB. Carter Clemons was awarded 2nd Team both sides of the ball at OL and LB.

The HS Volleyball team ended their season last night with a 3 set loss to North Fulton. The team finished 20-16. This is the 30th 20-win season for the program and the first since 2021-22. Stat leaders for the game were-

Picture retakes will be on Thursday, October 30 at both schools. If your child did not have their picture taken at our first picture day, they will need to have their picture taken on Thursday. If you would like a retake of your child, they can have their picture taken again on Thursday. If you already purchased photos, please return them to school on Thursday to give to the photographer. If you have not ordered photos yet, please tell your child to have their picture taken and let their teacher know so we don't miss them.
