The family of Jack Simmons has donated a classroom set of ukuleles, 2 electric basses, guitar strings, ukulele strings, tuners, and other items to our school district! The ukuleles will be used at Lewistown Central and the basses and guitar items will be used at the JH/HS. We are extremely blessed with this amazing gift from the Simmons family and are honored to help Jack's legacy live on. He was a wonderful man and a talented musician. Mrs. Reed, Mr. Reed, and all the students say "Thank You!!" ❤️❤️

Senior Ella Hootman recently competed at a Showstopper Dance Competition where she learned of an essay competition sponsored by the Showstopper magazine. Ella's essay exploring the world of dance through smell was chosen as a Top 5 Essay. Ella's creative submission has been published in the online magazine and she has received various prizes and merchandise. Congratulations, Ella! We are proud of your hard work and dedication. Lewistown CUSD #97 would like to thank Mr. Doug Hampton for his years serving as a board member for the school district. Mr. Hampton began his service in 2016 and stepped down this year. Thank you for 9 years of service to the students, staff, parents, and community of District 97.


Help our Kindergarten classes by collecting food & toiletries for the summer! These items will be distributed to the small food pantry (at the Elementary playground) for people in our community with a need. We appreciate your help with this! Donations will be taken through the end of the school year & can be dropped off at the Elementary office! THANK YOU!

The JH Track teams hosted a triangular meet last night with Illini Bluffs and Elmwood. 7th Grade Boys, 7th Grade Girls, and 8th Grade Girls all won their meets. You can see the top finishers below.

HS Softball took a loss to West Central last night. Sam Thum highlighted the night by going 3-3!






Yesterday was a great day to be a Miner on the diamond and the track! Checkout the amazing performances by our athletes!





The Miners sluggers brought plenty of quarters for the Merry-go-round last night as the Varsity and JV Softball and Varsity Baseball combined for 49 total runs in the their 3 wins.
Varsity softball (7-1, 2-1) beat Macomb 13-5, while the JV won 19-3. The Varsity baseball (4-4) team beat South Fulton 17-4 at Dozer Park. See photos for stats and write ups.





Today's Junior High Track Meet in Havana has been canceled due to cold temps and wind. There will be practice at Central School until 5:00pm.

The Book Fair is happening all of this week. Your kiddos will make a wishlist during their scheduled library time and then have the chance to shop once they have money.
