The 8th Annual Lewistown Truck & Tractor Pull was held on August 17th at the Fulton County Fairgrounds. It was a hot day but a good day filled with trucks, tractors and fun! The FFA group helped work the food stand serving pork chops, walking tacos and other goodies while also selling shirts! This was the 8th event held as a fundraiser for the FFA groups in Lewistown & Cuba and in total, the LTTP has raised over $66,000!! They will present the funds raised at an upcoming board meeting at both Lewistown CUSD #97 and Cuba CUSD #3.

What’s on the menu this week? Book tastings! Yesterday, Mrs. Kruzan’s 7th & 8th grade literature classes got to “sample” some of what the school library has to offer. Mrs. Bishop picked out a great range of books and decorated the entire library like a restaurant (with snacks!) for the event!

The High School Volleyball teams picked up 2 wins against PORTA/AC last night. The Varsity won in 3 sets, 25-22, 16-25, 25-18. While the JV won in 2, 25-20, 27-25. Stat leaders were-

If you were on the road to Peoria yesterday you may have seen many different groups running for St. Jude. We are proud that District 97 was well represented. We had many staff members and current/former student athletes logging miles for the kids and families of St. Jude. The Lewistown team raised $54,000! Staff members included-

Fall Preschool Screening is happening next week! Students who were screened in the spring do not need to attend unless a rescreen was determined at the last appointment. Screenings will be in the elementary gym by appointment only. Students who have already been screened or attended pre-K or early childhood do not need to be screened again. Students in Head Start only can be screened if you are interested in dual enrollment. You may leave a detailed voicemail to request a time slot now. The office staff returns to work on Friday, Aug. 1. We will return your call as soon as possible.
